What is a Chiropractic Adjustment
What is a chiropractic adjustment? An adjustment is typically defined a low amplitude (distance), high velocity (speed) force delivered into a spinal joint to restore normal function, alignment, and movement. It's usually painless and often provides immediate relief of back pain or neck pain.
Most adjustments in my office are done manually, or by hand. However, when needed I use other techniques. For example, I often use an adjusting tool called an activator. The advantage of the activator is that it provides a lower force to the joint. This is especially helpful for young children, older patients with bone loss or osteoporosis, and for those who are apprehensive about being adjusted manually.
